There zapping 1,000 birds provides a battery that replenishes energy to continue playing, instead of moving on to a new round in Survival. These batteries can also be bought as in-app purchases. Zen is the third and final mode with energy nor time limits.There are power-ups such as ice blocks that freeze birds on the screen, dynamite that can blow up multiple birds at once, a military bird that takes out all birds of a single type on the screen, and a joker bird that dazes all birds on the screen allowing the player to slow down or speed up movement by tilting the device.There are story elements showing the character Skippy the Squirrel who is hit by power outages because birds keep hijacking the power lines.
