Obama '08 was an iPhone app created by the presidential campaign of Barack Obama in 2008 and officially released on October 2, 2008. Obama was elected the President on November 4, 2008, and subsequently inaugurated on January 20, 2009. As with the design of the app, it tied in with barackobama.com but had a more unique functionality to it. This is version 1.1 of the app, likely the version people used the day he was elected president in November 2008. After the victory of Obama as president-elect in November 2008, the app was deleted after a one-month lifespan, making it one of the shortest-lived apps in early iPhone history. The app holds historical significance as it was the very first official app made for a US president or a presidential candidate for their campaign. From November 2008 to July 2024, the app was lost media due to its obscurity and the only mentions of it being in news articles online. In July 2024, a Discord user sent me a link to an IPA of the app and have decided to publish it here, because of its historical significance. The app is public domain, as Obama for America has been an obsolete and defunct company since he was re-elected in 2012.
